In five years our kid's schools have closed twice for weather. Once before and now today. They're total grinches about this kind of stuff.

The kids have been outside for an hour and 22 minutes so far and there's no sign of them wanting to come back in yet. They're going to be little icicles when they come in the house.

I'm supposed to go in at eleven. But I think if I whine I can work from home.

And I'd like to point out that our local weather teams are complete crap at their jobs.

I'm going to walk the dog and head out in a few minutes. If the roads are slippery, I will head back.

flights are delayed like crazy (you should see my little status board)

my office went for the 10AM start, but then just cancelled the day because the roads are horrid.

squeezle and I stalled and went to breakfast hoping they would cancel our days: I succeeded, but squeezle still has to go to school.

I had an 11:20 to DC that was canceled. Managed to snag a seat on the 12:40, which is scheduled to depart at 1:40...

Wish me luck. And by "luck," I mean wish that somehow my plane gets diverted somewherre with warm, sunny beaches where I'm forced to spend a week drinking Mai Tais.

The upside to all this bad weather?
I'm getting crafty as hell. I'm making all kinds of stuff right now.

We had tiny frozen pellets that turned white on the ground and grass. Not really snow snow.

School was cancelled yesterday and today because of rain, sleet, ice, and snow flurries. I didn't have to go to work yesterday (which NEVER happens). The roads are mostly ice-free now, but it's only warmed up to about 34 degrees so everything is still covered in ice.

The rain has pretty much stopped, so it's business as usual tomorrow.
