interviewing junkies...

...is depressing.

yesterday i interviewed a guy who just released a really good record, but he was strung out. in our less-than-ten minute conversation, he dropped the phone three times, parroted the questions i asked him before formulating his answers, rambled on slightly, and nearly nodded off once. his drug use has never really been a secret, as he's alluded to it in his music. but still...it's sad to see what drugs can do to talented people.

That's why I'm not sure if I'd ever want to interview Evan Dando.

However, I've seen lots of people repeat questions before answering, just to make sure they've got the question right.
