Maybe John Dufilho will be your waiter; can't beat that.
Roach and I can ask him about bombardiers and big ol' packages.

why take him to some fancy-schmancy restaurant for his last meal of the trip? why not take him to a distinctly american--nay, TEXAN--restuarant, and meet down at the DQ?

Because there ain't no DQ in this damn town. It's a conspiracy to prevent me from getting my Snickers Blizzard fix.

I vote NO for the following reasons
a. the only DQ in the city of Dallas is in a mall food court
b. the DQ is not fishaterian friendfly unless he is suppposed to make a dinner of french fries and ice cream
c. DQ only tastes truly good when you eat it in the car on the highway - the way DQ was intended to be eaten

I'm kind of avoiding him, I don't play the keyboard very well and I mess up his songs.

I really don't think he minded. I'm pretty sure the cute chick shaking her tits in front of him had his full attention.

Unless it's recently been turned into a taco stand, I'm pretty sure there is one in Pleasant Grove (where I used to live) which, contrary to what the hotsy-totsy-north-of-Mockingbird crowd likes to think, is indeed in the city of Dallas. I think, but I'm not absolutely for sure, that there is one in Oak Cliff - again, a part of the city of Dallas that the hoi polloi would like to ignore.

Actually, I already took Steveums to a DQ after we went to the Georgia Aquarium. He and I had the fish sandwich. He didn't seem to mind. But the large shake I ordered was humongous and took me like 30 minutes to drink. No more large shakes for me! I asked Steve if he wanted ice cream, and he said it would make him gain weight.

We also went to Joe's Crab Shack for his last meal in ATL and he ate calamari.

The only fish he didn't seem to enjoy was my homemade fried catfish.

I would offer the one on Montgomery in the Arts District in Fort Worth but since I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be a DQ, I won't even mention it. 8)

Are you planning on early evening or later? I only ask because my younger child begins her s'more year of high school on the 14th and I can't have her starting her year sleep-deprived. Or can I? Nah, if anything keeps me (or us) away it'll be my husband returning from a 3-week trip. (They think you don't love them if you don't make a big fuss when they come home. I have missed him a lot and still a week to go... :()

More info on Fadi's -- they're open til 8 p.m. on Sundays. Too early??

Can I throw the Cafe Brazil hat into the ring? The ones in Deep Ellum or on Central between Mockingbird/Lovers are always open and they have space. And vegetarian food. And non-veg food. And pancrepes.

P.S.
I'm proud to be in the hotsy-totsy-SOUTH-of-Mockingbird crowd (but not really because I don't have enough money or the inclination to get dressed up).
