I can see taking down the forum but why did they take down the whole site? Maybe the whole thing is being revamped.

Spiritual Cleansing, perhaps? All I know is it's better that it blowed up now for the sake of revenue.

They can't repackage the group/cashcow/marketing project without a new herd of sheep that aren't angry. Think about it. The new album comes out, and people show up on the board to check it out and you find a bunch of jaded old-schoolers talking about how great the band was before this second coming. Surely would hurt the new fan base they will need, because obviously the old fan base wasn't getting it done.

Ahh...

Well, when I checked this morning, the only thing that was down was the web board. Maybe they are re-vamping it. I still stand by what I said though. That thought process has existed and lately as well.

Yes, that site has been due for an overhaul for a LONG time. Plus, they need to because things have changed.
