check this out. it kind of proves (in my mind, anyway) that kenley has been taking from other designers. the painted fabric alone would make me think "oh well just a coincidence" but it has the same kind of sleeve and everything. and apparently balenciaga's entire spring collection is painted fabrics.
Yes, I think her collection was consistent with her stuff through out the season -- but seeing the Balenciaga show -- WOW. So much the same, and ignorance is not a good defense when you're trying to be part of an industry.

I really liked Korto's asymmetrical take on the halter dress, and I loved her green dresses. (Reminds me, I liked Kenley's emerald green top with black skirt a lot.) Korto will find something in fashion, even if it is not the PR-sponsored collection.

Leanne's collection knocked my socks off though, and I think she will continue to come up with new ways to add geometrical and architectural elements to clothes and that's cool.

I didn't watch it, but I took the spoiler cuz, I'm busy and might not get to watch it until the weekend. Glad it's over and I'm NOT watching (getting sucked in) next season NO MATTER WHAT!

however, i think korto's show was more interesting, had better color choice, and was overall more polished. i think a lot of leanne's final looks were sort of sloppy looking with the pedals, and her colors were meh. but i enjoyed leanne all season, thought she was rather consistent, and am not upset she won at all. i just think korto is more my personal style than leanne, therefore i liked it more.

i never do this, but i commented on the blog entry phyllis posted:

[i loved leanne and korto all season, but thought korto's final show was so much better than leanne's. leanne's looked a little messy, like i just wanted to go adjust the petals so they looked placed, rather than random. korto's colors were so much more striking, her shapes were really pleasing, and you could get her strong point of view in every outfit. leanne had a strong point of view too, but it looked sloppy to me, and the colors were so wishy-washy.

and kenley... please. not only was her aesthetic totally derivative of mcqueen and balenciaga, but everything else she did was either straight out of 1940, 1950, or 1980. there was nothing new. there was nothing innovative. her first dress looked like devo could've worn it. her entire collection was old, done before, lame, and expected. leanne and korto both had new style to older ideas, which is what fashion is all about.

also in regards to kenley: how many times did she need to do the no-sleeve high collar look? she did the same exact silhouette in three looks: the dvf challenge ("shanghai"), the final challenge, and in her final show. tweak it. make it different. it's awful. i'm so glad she was the first eliminated.]

Haha, I didn't hear this line but it's funny:
