Spiral Diner in Dallas!!!

Postby lennon » Mon May 15, 2006 4:00 pm

Word from the spiral diner website:

Hello folks,

Well, things are really going great these days. Business could not be better. A million thanks to all you kids for your support and for spreading the word about our good food!!

Things are also going great in our quest to get Spiral Diner opened up in the good city of Dallas. Let me fill you in on the latest......

Spiral Diner - Dallas

As most of you have already heard, we are opening a new Spiral Diner in Dallas. It will be owned and operated by the lovely and talented Sara Hicks. She has exhaustively been searching for a location for the last 6 months and has finally found what she thinks will be the official new home of SD Dallas. So now is the time to get the ball rolling so that all our friends in Big D will stop begging us to 'hurry up already'. Without further adieu, here's a message from Sara;

"To everyone who has been waiting anxiously for news from Spiral Diner
Dallas, I have an exciting announcement! We finally found a location that
fits our needs and our budget, and for once, it just feels right. It's on
historic Swiss Avenue, within walking distance form Baylor hospital, the
Meadows Foundation, a Pilates studio, a park, a dog park, a shoe store
that sells vegan shoes, and a wildflower preserve. Who knew Dallas was so
cool? The building has a lot to offer us, and it is nestled in the middle
of a community that, like Fairmount in Fort Worth, will happily support
this kind of business. Spiral Dallas will offer an animal-free,
cruelty-free menu that is unlike anything else in the city. We all know
that Dallas needs it desperately! Our biggest need right now is
financial. We are looking for people to make an investment of $500 to
$10,000+ to be paid back with interest. Your contributions are critical
in helping us get Spiral Diner Dallas off the ground. If you are
interested in contributing, please e-mail or call me to learn more about it. Thank
you so much for supporting Spiral Fort Worth and the future Spiral Diner Dallas!
-love, Sara" sara@spiraldiner.com 972-978-1942

I know I can get Sam to eat dinner with me there because of one line on their Web site:

My friend's wife is the founder/owner of the Fort Worth Diner.
I know there is a lot of hard work, heart & soul in what they do.

Glad to hear that they are looking to expand to Dallas. :)

I got really excited too when I got the email... a Spiral Diner in Dallas, I guess I never thought it would happen. So great news it is! I love the one in Ft. Worth.

What is wrong with you people?! It's not like we're THAT far away from you. But I'm glad you're getting your own SD. That's how I feel about Whole Foods, I only make it to the Arlington store about once a month, if that often.

Tracy,

You're invited to the Whole Foods on Lemmon in Dallas because it's right near my house. Come, let's eat an assortment of organic cheeses and olives together.

My daughter and I went to the Greenville Ave. store Saturday because we had a bit of time to kill before Gustafer Yellowgold and were REALLY thirsty (from our long journey from FW 8) ) I haven't been to the Lemmon Ave. store, I'll have to check it out next time I'm over that way. Summer's coming but we've got those darned "activities" - one of which will be summer band but not till late July. I STILL haven't even seen the inside of an IKEA store. :(

Mere- the band director is doing a field trip to the competition at Lake Highlands HS this summer. So, I'll get to go AND not drive 'cause I'll volunteer to chaparone.

Please let me know when it is! I'd love to catch it this year (and get to say hello to you and the offspring.)

We can hear everything that happens up at Lake Highlands HS in our house. When we first moved in it was really really odd, but now we just ignore it.

I wish I knew what you looked like I would have said hello. (I was the middle-aged woman in pigtails.)

We liked it but we were a little disappointed that Mogan only talked about the new stuff and didn't actually perform anything new since we couldn't make it to the Tea Room. I can understand saving it for the paying customers, though...and no cookies but cool tattoos.

I saw you! Yeah, too bad we didn't know to hunt each other down to say howdy.
