Corporate Slogan Game

Postby jbfromoc » Thu Apr 27, 2006 6:25 pm

Dalya's "selling out" thread made me think of the movie "Network":

"It is the international system of currency which determines the vitality of life on this planet. THAT is the natural order of things today. THAT is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today... There is no America; there is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today... You think in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations; there are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems; one vast, interwoven, interacting, multivaried, multinational dominion of dollars... The world is a business; it has been since man crawled out of the slime. Our children will live to see that perfect world in which there's no war or famine, oppression or brutality - one vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will hold a share of stock - all necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused." -Arthur Jensen

Disagree? Well then... let me present to you "THE CORPORATE SLOGAN" game. Somebody presents a slogan and somebody else names the company. For example, if I said "Just do it," you would say Nike or "Have It Your Way" would be Burger King. Now clearly, not all slogans will be recognized GLOBALLY, but I think this game will show everyone just how much we have already "sold out."

So without further ado, let me start with: "The Ultimate Driving Machine."

Yeah. Being bormbarded with slogans all your life and remembering them is EXACTLY the same as getting 50 mil for a coke commercial. Well done. I have been served. Someone call 911.

It's a quote from a 1976 movie. But since you weren't even an itch in your Dad's pants yet and puberty is making you act like a little bitch lately, I'll let the whole "doofus" thing go. So lighten up too and play along.
