Awesome.
A friend of mine has a theory that Craigslist is just waaaay too easy to use, prompting people who aren't smart enough to figure out Ebay / Match.com / any other sites to flock there. This explains a lot about their personals, and might explain an inordinante number of stupid questions about blocks... Or maybe this guy's a postal worker.

I like using craigslist more than ebay. For starters it's local...so you don't have to deal with shipping etc. I mean really, can you economically ship blocks, I don't think so.
Also, I don't want to always bid on something. Sometimes I want it free (my free computer monitor for instance) or I want to be able to bargin someone down (like my new metal bed frame from $100 to $75). Those things you just can't do on ebay.
I've unloaded tix countless times and it works great for that as well. Ebay is overrated if you ask me.

Totally. Craigs List got rid of a bunch of (Jason's) stuff for me when Jason moved in and we just wanted the stuff gone, we didn't want to deal with an auction. His point wasn't that *all* CL users were nimrods - just that the nimrods are less likely to be weeded out with the CL no-hassle format.

Ditto, when Sam moved to our house. He was able to unload a couch, chair, loveseat and a few tables to one very appreciative Dallasite.Totally. Of course, he had to put up with 2 nimrods who didn't show -- but the 3rd guy was great!

ooo I also get loads of focus groups thru CL...netting me between $500-1000 + tax free dollars a year!
I also found my smoking reduction study thru UCSF on CL and I'm happy to report that in the past 6 mos, I went from 1 pack a day...to 5 - 7 cigs a day. and drumroll please.....I haven't smoked in 5 days! GO ME.
Best part is I gradually had my nicotine reduced over 6 mos while still smoking so I never missed it cuz I was still smoking. Now I don't even crave cigs. It's awesome. plus they paid me to be in the study...thank you CL!

Today's CL lesson: If you ever find yourself in possesion of a fire hydrant and suddenly realize that it's city property and likely highly valuable and you're like "hoshit how'my gonna get rid of this thing?" Just post it on CL. Apparently there's quite a market for free fire hydrants.
