congrats, mere and sam! that is one gorgeous ring. for serious.

i got a new 80 gig ipod video (<3) and the rosetta stone brazilian portuguese language tapes, as well as some books and dvds and such.
do those rosetta stone tapes work?? if they do, I want to get some.

um, yes, so far they REALLY work. i had a basic knowledge of brazilian portuguese before getting them, but my comprehension has shot through the roof since working with them. i haven't even been using them too much and it's done wonders.

cool, I think I'll check them out, thanks. For now I'm just gonna force feed myself some french phrases from a book. It's been entirely too long since I've even bothered to speak french. :?

the problem is that they are fairly pricy. i didn't buy mine, but i know the set i got was like 170 and that's for level one comprehension (there are two levels, and some languages have three). i think for both levels (which is near-fluency, i believe?) it was $3something.
