Dead CD Burner

Postby Dutch » Tue Mar 21, 2006 12:33 pm

Okay, so after buying a whole new stack of CDRs, thinking the old ones were duds, I come to find out that my CD-RW drive is dead. WTF????

Any suggestions?

1) Take the CDs back to the store for a refund

2) Buy a new CD burner

3) send the music in file format to someone who has a working burner. Mail them the CD-R's. Ask them nicely to burn the disc/s for you. Send them money to mail it to that person. Paypal works :)

4) Go borrow someone's computer that has a working CD burner

5) Take a nap

6) There is no option 6

5) Take a nap
I'd go with those two in that order.

This is the option I'm going for. Any suggestions from the technophiles? Reasonably priced suggestions, and by that I mean cheap.

burners are now pretty cheap. You shouldn't have to pay much more than $40 for a pretty damn good one.

I can endorse newegg as well, its like Fry's from home (outpost.com isn't so good). You can shop in your underwear, not that that ever stopped some of the Fry's customers.
