dammit, how could they? I'll play monopoly with you in the summer.
Sorry to be a thread hijacker, but what's the deal? Are you coming to Austin or not? There's not enough to see in Dallas to take up two whole weeks.

...or is there?

Steve, I love Dallas and my futon is your futon, BUT GO TO AUSTIN! At least for a few days. It's so much cooler.

Austin > Dallas

In fact, Austin > Texas. You don't realise it yet, but when you're in Dallas and wondering 'how the hell do people live here?', if you go there, you will understand. It is the oasis in the desert. It's the reason the Spree ever got out of Texas. If I ever move back to Texas, it will be to Austin as I deem the rest of it uninhabitable.

So go there; you will understand.

I want to move to the valley. Buy an acre and a double wide and live the rest of my days crossing the boarder, drinking cheap mexican beers and resting in the arms of many mexican hookers.

Austin is so damned awesome I plan on going out Friday night until the wee hours, waking up at 8am saturday morning hung over/still drunk, and heading down I35 in hopes of getting to some saloon that has a summer break records free party and free beer party. and to see my friends new daughter, but mostly just to be in austin again.

if you do make it to austin and school is in and it is warm or even almost warm take a drive down guadalupe, you will fall in love with the city, and many many tank tops.

The valley = the only place on earth more humid than Houston.
If I could move to Austin and keep my job that'd be cool.

I can show you around here a day or two too, Steve.

RISK on a computer is 40,000,000,000 times easier than playing on a board.

Plus, those little pieces from the old-school RISK (not the ones that look like horsies and cannons and shit) hurt like hell when you step on them.

The old school ones are tiny colored blocks, right? If that's what I'm thinking of, they were very easy to lose. I used to find them all over the house. (My cat liked to bat them around.)

Yar, I will be coming down to Austin. 1) because it sounds really fun, 2) to see you perhaps, 3) to see rebeccalogan because i don't know if I should go all the way to san antonio, 4) to perhaps even catch a glimpse of the rare mr J. 5) musick?

but otherwise, dallas-wise, i'm not here to go "oooh, jfk's brains fell out here". I hope to see: meresam, sunny, phyllisybil, kristenmyles, justinsqueezle, roach, hifi, and any sundry people that i forgot who live around the dallas area. (and the dalya on my way home). So don't worry, mom, you don't need to be my chauffer and concierge.

i'll be starting a blog soon so i don't have to explain things lots :)

and your italics are redundant, sorry. i'm too much of a loser to have a love interest, let alone an overseas one

6th floor museum is worth a visit, it's strange walking around there and seeing something you've seen so many times on film that you almost think you've been there before.

then goto trinity and pepes and meet lots of peeps :D
