fucking fucking fuck fuck.
And that leaves just about nowhere to see bands now.

Yeah, you don't need a ballroom in Dallas to see a band that's only Texas date is in Austin. Are local music scenes cyclic? Hopefully this is the bottom of the trough and things will start swinging back up soon.fucking fucking fuck fuck.

utter bullshits. It's a "life center" (read: "church"). It'll fail and/or book bands I only really want to firebomb (see: 3/10/2007). Good luck getting a beer there.looks like there's a new place opening in Deep Ellum, myspace here.
The North by Southwest festival might save a trip to Austin
I guess we're just down to this new Palladium (though several shows got cancelled there last week), the Curtain, and Galaxy.
Looks like it's time to move.

in my search for places with venues with bands that you like i thought of the Camden Underworld.Looks like it's time to move.
And during this quest I discovered that Gang Green are playing there on a Wednesday night in March - no idea if thee original members are still playing with the band after all those years of abuse but that's a tempting proposition....

we're not going anywhere until i get those three coveted little letters after my name - after that, the world is wide open! (at least the english speaking world, i have a hard time with languagesThat's what I said in 2005

While I suspect Justin is right about this place, and the following isn't encouraging,
If Mates of State actually plays there in March I'll have to scope it out. At least it's not owned by that no-talent ass clown that owns The Door.ellum: ONSTAGE is a full service, all ages performance venue (1100 inside capacity & 3000+ outdoor option) that is located inside the Life in Deep Ellum cultural center which also features Mokah Coffee, ellum: KIDS in the Marie Green Student Center, Life Development, ellum:ART, Frozen Fire film/live recording studio, and Flotsam Vintage Clothing. Its purpose is not to turn a profit but to provide a great sounding room that functions to suite the most demanding of mid size club tour support.

I like the Granada. And it's not only because of the young Babs look alike who works there.
Galaxy needs to book better shows now, only been to the new place once to see GBH, but it seems OK. There is a new house of blues opening up, but I think it maybe a large venue.
Maybe someone will buy at least the tea room side. the building seems to be in better shape than the old trees building. Maybe.

the cavern's sound makes me sad sometimes. went to see rev organ drums and the sound guy forgot the organ part. I had to mention it to him and I know my ears aren't the best for such things.House of Blues is a Hard Rock with a bigger stage.
There's still the Cavern but damn it's small.
but I do like the cavern though.
