My wife and I travelled to Edinburgh to see her (which is about a 3 hour drive for us). We are very keen to put her on when she comes back to the UK next year, she only played to about 20 people at the venue we saw her at, which happened to be a karaoke bar.

I've been really into my misery country at the moment, so I'll recommend Angel Olsen, SUSTO and The Weather Station. Line & Circle are a good indie rock band, they jangle like early R.E.M. A band from Austin called Sweet Spirit are lots of fun too, you can tell they would be a riot live. Really ...

Hey all,

My girlfriend and I are going to SxSw again this year and have found that flights to Houston are considerably cheaper than ones to Austin. Of course, this isn't any use to us if travelling from Houston to Austin is an expensive nightmare.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

My main plan is to visit the girlfriend's family and eat lots of festive meat. Nom!

My band Seas, Starry have been contributing to a bi-monthly compilation, titled Not a Teepee. Boo to temperamental weather!

We're staying in Bryan as Claire (the missus) has friends who stay there. We'll stay with them except for the 4 days we've got in Austin. It's a bit off a long drive, but it'll only be there and back once. Look like we have accommodation sorted for Austin too, hooray! How hot is it this time of year...
