Repent, the World Cup is nigh!

I thought about making it "shport" in general, but I really don't care about the others.

Brazil are going to shit all over everyone. Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Adriano and Kaka up front, everyone else might as well stay at home.
that's what I was thinking yesterday when I read this:
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... 15&cc=5901

Goalkeepers: Dida (AC Milan), Julio Cesar (Inter Milan), Rogerio Ceni (Sao Paulo)

Defenders: Cafu (AC Milan), Cicinho (Real Madrid), Lucio (Bayern Munich), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen), Roberto Carlos (Real Madrid), Gilberto (Hertha Berlin), Cris (Olympique Lyon), Luisao (Benfica)

Midfielders: Edmilson (Barcelona), Juninho Pernambucano (Olympique Lyon), Emerson (Juventus), Ze Roberto (Bayern Munich), Gilberto Silva (Arsenal), Kaka (AC Milan), Ricardinho (Corinthians)

Forwards: Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Robinho (Real Madrid), Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Adriano (Inter Milan), Fred (Olympique Lyon).

CANADA'S GOING TO GO ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR

... wait, fuck.
if y'all had 10 more Dwayne De Rosarios you'd be in good shape.

Image
I like to imagine Canada hasn't qualified for the last 16 years because of my presence in the country. I ought to leave to prove it.

Like '02, Trinity Hall has promised to be open for all games, which shouldn't be nearly as bad this time. This could make for some hellacious lunch breaks.
trinity hall sounds great.

specially for the italy-usa game. i think its on a saturday.

I work for a company that is owned by Danes, and a lot of the top brass at work are Danes. The English (and everyone else) have been clamoring for a TV to watch world cup matches on. The Danes don't understand. I get a sense there will be a lot of sick days in June...

If Brazil take it, it will be only the second time ever the world cup has been won by a non-euro team on european soil. Of course, the other team to do that was also Brasilia...

you might as well tear up the paper though when the best 'on paper' team is going to win...it's not like Football Manager where you buy Cherno Samba you win the league every year...things are never that certain...remember Denmark winning Euro '92 when they came in as a replacement for Yugoslavia? France getting knocked out of the last world cup and not scoring? remember Greece winning Euro '04? it only takes a team like France, Italy, Holland or Portugal ** with great attackers/defenders compared to Brazil's great attackers/shoddy defenders-wanna-be-attackers to make Brazil's on paper unbeatables look overpaid and ordinary over the 90 minutes...

the only thing that's GUARENTEED in a world cup is that Scotland (if they ever qualify again) will NEVER get past the group stages.

** I left out England to wind up Eebs...and because their arrogance usually gets them knocked out :P

i thought we normally got knocked out cos we scored less goals than the other team and can't take penalties.....

ps. i like the way you used two stars instead of one. is that a sign of what the next england shirt will have?
