TCU/Baylor smack talk

I thought about making it "shport" in general, but I really don't care about the others.

TCU/Baylor smack talk

Postby James » Sat Dec 06, 2014 4:29 pm

When I was a student at TCU I never would have envisioned days like this when TCU (the proverbial outcast) and Baylor (the proverbial doormat) are vying to compete for a national championship. It's still kinda hard to fathom. But since this board has a decent number of both Horned Frogs and Bears, it's a good place to talk about it.

My takeaways:

1) Art Briles is a little crazy
2) Next time schedule at least a decent team in non-conference
3) I would still eat at Whataburger
4) Get over the head-to-head result
5) A rematch between the teams would be electric

The answer for Big XII fans is in: go undefeated or win a conference championship game. I wonder how long it takes for them to pick up two more teams.

Not long I imagine. Or at least when Texas is ready to be good again. Should have known that would be the outcome. I'm sure Ohio St would have won but Wisconsin laid down big time. Follow the money.

I originally started this to get some smack talk going, but I think that was misguided. Baylor are in the exact same boat as TCU and I fear they always will be. So I hope they smack Michigan State 80-0. I hope TCU smacks Ol' Miss 80-0 too. Show both of those teams what speed is, and the world that they probably got it wrong. I hope both teams unleash.

As for the NC, I think Oregon takes it. Speed kills and they are the only ones in that four that have it (you can argue Alabama, but I say they aren't as fast as they have been recently). FSU will get clobbered. Ohio State might have a chance but I think they'll get rolled...

I too think Oregon and Bama reach the NC game after big wins. I wouldn't want to put money on that game but maybe would favor Oregon by 4.5 or something like that.

Who can the Big 12 add that will actually increase the strength of the other teams' schedules? Colorado State, Tulsa, U of H, SMU? Maybe Cincinnati?

My choices would be BYU and Louisville.

Is SMU finally going to Pony Up?

I would actually be a fan of bringing back all the SWC teams into the Big XII + the Oklahoma and Kansas Teams...maybe even steal LSU along with Ark and A&M...

SMU football will always be dead. Sadly.

I read somewhere that their new coach had them on the up and up? Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it made it sound like they were ready to at least play spoiler.

Houston is ready.
Rice...still sucks, but...

So here's my Big 14:

TCU
SMU
Baylor
Texas
Texas A&M
Texas Tech
Rice
Houston
Arkansas
LSU
Oklahoma
Oklahoma State
Kansas
Kansas State

Dunno, maybe keep some teams already in it like WVU or something...
