10 favourite rekkids of 2009

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

It may be a bit early, but folks on another message board I frequent were posting theirs.

So, here is mine (in no particular order):

The Twilight Sad ~ Forget the Night Ahead
Magnolia Electric Co. ~ Josephine
Great Lake Swimmers ~ Lost Channels
Brendan Benson ~ My old, Familiar Friend
Charlotte Hatherley ~ New Worlds
Silversun Pickups ~ Swoon
Pelican ~ What we all Come to Need
Bat for Lashes ~ Two Suns

Runner up: Animal Collective ~ Merriweather Post Pavillion

In no particular order -
Jason Lytle
Stardeath and White Dwarfs
The Horrors
The Prodigy
The Stupids
Dent May and his Magnificent Ukelele
Empire of the Sun
The Cribs
Tommy Reilly
Mumford & Sons
Animal Collective
Gallows
The Heavy
Joy Formidable

But the album I think I've played the most this year is Mariachi El Bronx -

Honoury mention to this song that I can't get out of my head at the moment - possibly as it sounds like a Ramones ripoff

I'm pathetic and uncool. I don't even know if I made an album purchase this year for my own pleasure.

How the heck did that happen?

Anyone like the Dawes? On the second listen, I noticed some of those lyrics are a little dark.
