How can I...

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

How can I...

Postby ifihadahifi » Tue Mar 28, 2006 3:10 am

record sound/music over an existing AVI clip?
We have a small camera that will record short "movies" but the sound is terrible. I'd like to simply add a music file over what I've filmed.

Any suggestions?

There are a few different programs that will allow you to do that. The really good ones are probably a bit more expensive than you would like.

There are a couple of cheap options (Blaze Audio Overdub comes to mind), but your best bet is going to be to dig around and find the expensive programs that have 30 day free trials (i.e. Adobe Premiere, and a few of the Pinnacle Systems programs)

I went extremely low budget and taped headphones to the microphone.
Using Bibio helped mask the imperfections.

I probably did it the hard way but I kinda dig the results. It's a complete mess.

That actually sounds really good and goes along quite thematically with the super-8 vid.

good job and way to be innovative!

Awwwww! That was sweet. (And very retro looking.)

I love old movies. Growing up, we didn't have a movie camera, so we did slides. My mom was a camera nut, so we have boxes and boxes. They are very cool because shown in order, it's like a movie.
As kids we would have Slide Night and pop popcorn, pull out the projector and view them all night while exchanging stories.

Someday we want to get them condensed onto some sort of dvd format with music or narration. But I would hate to lose the largess of the slide on the projection screen.

(Sorry. I got off track there.)

Sadly, 1994 is quickly becoming retro.
