Matisyahu: now I've seen just about everything

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

Matisyahu: now I've seen just about everything

On first examination of Matisyahu, I thought it was a gimmick act.

Then I listened to him. HMFF, he's really damn talented! Who would have thought that hasidic reggae would be so damn fantastic.

i heard a bunch of good things about him, then late one night on conan or somejunk I saw him. And it was late and I was in bed and it kind of freaked me out. I couldn't listen to him because I was thrown off by the clothes. Probably the same way people were thrown off by the spree's early KKK robes.

I first heard that song on 102.1 on one of those awful, awful days when I left my iPod at home. Jesse (one of the DJs) was ranting about him, and then played the song. I like it, very interesting vocal dynamics. I believe he's on the Coachella lineup this year as well...

HMFF, he's really damn talented!

(HMFF. Is that the lesser used abbreviation for "holy motherfuckin' fuck?")

They were talking about this guy on Howard Stern yesterday, too.

I thought it was a gimmmick too. Apparently not.

Hmhmmmrueugahh.

I can see he's fairly talented, but this doesn't appeal to me. I don't know. I see reggae as a fairly stagnant genre due to the restricted style that it uses. I'm not saying it's rubbish, but it takes someone very special to make it interesting.
