Alone, Jealous and Stoned

Music, movies, entertainment, etc. Because James wanted it (and seems like a pretty good idea)

New single from Secret Machines.

It picks up a little about half way through, but...

wow. what a yawner...but Secret Machines have never been a "singles" band to me, so I need to hear it in album format before I can say for sure.
It's as if I would have heard "The Leaves Are Gone" as a single.

Yeah, but they're still an 'album' band to me.

i like it. it's not really single material, but it's a really, really pretty song.

We saw Secret Machines last night in Portsmouth.

Got a good view right up front at the barrier. I was able to check out the million bajillion effects pedals. ;)

The set was amazing. Little talk, mostly rock... each song blending into the next. They opened with Alone Jealous and Stoned. Towards the end of the set they played Lightning Blue Eyes (another new song) which was really good. Played a very Secret Machines version of Girl of the North Country. :) Ended the show perfectly with First Wave Intact. Looking forward to hearing the album. :D

Oh and Brandon Curtis has a silver tooth. I don't know if this is a new thing or not, but it was very bling. ;)

have you heard the soccer-mom 'soft' mix of "nowhere fast?"

one of the worst things ever.

in fact, you can listen to it here:
http://2006.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/7088.html

i think this is it...but it sounds like a remix of the soft mix....
