Oddly enough, it was last year with Mr. Roach. Gotta love some Dallas Sidekicks action.

What have you done with all of your obsolete technology?

I do what everyone does - bring it to the office & leave it on top of a filing cabinet in the hallway.*

How many old cell phones do you have laying around your house?

*not really, but it does look like everyone else here does that.

As a matter of fact, I do!

http://aboutus.vzw.com/communityservice/Shipping.html

You can go there and print off a .pdf, then attach it to a package - you hafta provide the package but the .pdf puts the postage on Vz's tab. Then pop it in the mail and voila! Good deed done for the day!

What was the last good deed you did?

I made dinner last week for some neighbors who just had a baby. Veggie lasagna and lemon bars. :)

(Roach, I just noticed today that you can drop off old cell phones and rechargeable batteries at Home Depot, too. I think Fed Ex Office/old Kinko's locations also take them, but maybe that is just toner cartridges.)

Has anyone ever owned a printer they actually liked?

My HP 2400 Series (scanner/fax/printer/bass-o-matic) works really nicely. I only wish it did wireless printing.

Are you think you are a digital hoarder?

I have a zip file on my work machine called "2009 and prior." In that .zip file is another that says "2005 and prior." Pretty sure there's stuff in there that contains gems like "2002 paging schedule." I've had at least five machines in the last decade, and I've moved all this junk with me.

The answer is yes.

Ever heard of BitCoins? Was it before the piece NPR did on them this morning?

Yes (not surprising considering my occupation). Here is why you should be afraid.

What should I do with my "newly found" $500K? pedals1

Easy, a falcon, or many falcons.

Have you ever ridden in a helicopter?

(my boss used to, on occasion, catch one from the heliport by the u.n. to laguardia because it was much more reliable than fighting traffic and that seems totally gangster to me)

no, but it's on the list of "to do"s.

Have you ever jumped off/out of anything higher than the high dive?

Yes, a bungee platform. I don't recommend it.
