every secret society needs a secret gesture

Postby mr_j » Wed Feb 28, 2007 10:57 pm

...i propose this one

1. hold the four fingers of your right hand together. fold your thumb over into the palm. sort of like the boy scout hand-sign.
2. take your hand and put it in front of your chest, with your palm facing your chest, and the tip of your fingers at chin level
3. pull down the sleeve of your arm, if it's covered.
4. grip your left hand about an inch or two from your elbow.
5. you're now makin' THE FORK (and what a big fork it is!)

uh, no ... we already have a hand gesture. if you don't know it, i guess that just means you aren't a real forker.

What we have is more like a gang sign. Something more formal that won't get you shot wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. I think what we really need a full dress uniform.

OK, looks like the headgear is decided. We just have to find some of those. I would go for a cloak over a cape as it is more practical and stealthy. The go-carts are shriners and the really odd hats and swords are knights of columbus. Who the hell let's those guys have swords? Anyway, maybe we should go with mini-bikes and pitchforks and we could form some kind of demented parade cavalry.

I can't read this thread without thinking of the following statements:

"Ya know, it was a nice secret organisation we had once..."

"Who controls the British Crown? Who keeps the metric system down? We do! We do!"

"No, no, you've got a a royal....uh....sampler!"

"Forget 911: here's the real emergency number (912)"

"Patience Monty...climb the ladder"

If you want to have a gesture in public, buy a forker's shirt. There aren't many and they get attention. Especially the red ones...
